Mediterranean Dreams in Kortrijk: The Paneltim Pavilion

October 2025

Between the historic Broeltorens and the rippling Leie river, Paneltim surprises this autumn with a Mediterranean structure that is more than an architectural masterpiece. The Paneltim Pavilion, the result of an intensive process with architect Victor Ledure, demonstrates how innovation and imagination come together when creators are given the freedom to push boundaries.

Hack The Material: Experimenting with Imagination

The Hack The Material process invites creators to rediscover existing products through experimentation and imagination. For this edition, designer Victor Ledure took on the challenge with Paneltim Base – one of our latest innovations that combines structural strength with versatility. The result? A pavilion that stands on the Broelkaai from October 16 to November 2, 2025, inviting visitors for a unique experience during the Wonder Creativity Festival.

From Building Block to Experience

The design integrates various applications of Paneltim Base into one sculptural whole: from walls and roofs to terraces, planters and even a tiled swimming pool. With a shower unit and panoramic views of the Leie, the pavilion creates a Mediterranean atmosphere in the heart of the urban landscape. The inspiration? The distinctive projects of Brazilian architect Luis Barragán, translated into a contemporary whole where pure volumes and geometric clarity take center stage.

"This project demonstrates how our large technical PP building blocks can be aesthetically finished," says Annelies Deltour – CEO of Paneltim NV. "The pavilion proves that plastic panels are not only functional as strong supports but also enable aesthetically sophisticated architecture."

Building the Future, One Panel at a Time

The pavilion is more than a showcase of possibilities. It embodies our vision of co-creation: working together with creators, designers and engineers to bring ideas to life. Every project, large or small, offers opportunities to discover new applications for materials that remain relevant both today and tomorrow.

With more than 27 years of experience in developing high-quality plastic panels, we highlight the versatility and sustainability of our products with the Paneltim Pavilion. We invite architects, designers and innovative partners to join us in further developing Paneltim Base and exploring new markets – from architecture and interiors to swimming pools and public applications.
